At the end of 2008 work began at the Warehouse to enable furniture to be stored and
displayed. In February 2009 the donated Second-Hand Furniture was moved to the Warehouse.
This has been a great success and has increased donations and sales, all revenue
goes to support YPL and the Community.
The large floor area of the Warehouse meant that work could also start on a new project,
the Indoor Arena, where the Remote Control Model Car Club started in March 2009.
The Cambridge Community Foundation helped towards the cost of buying model cars
and the purchase of a special flooring designed for racing model cars on. The Club
is extremely popular both with members and those using it on a session basis.
The Indoor Arena also houses a workshop for building and/or repairing model cars.
If you require refreshments there is the Pit Stop Café and Tuck Shop. Also, there
is the Model Shop where you can buy cars, spares and parts.
YPL’s own fundraising provided the finances for the computerised lap-timing system.
